Bio – Denise Savard
I am originally from St. Victor Saskatchewan, married and have one daughter and am soon to be a great grandmother.
Started to paint at a young age, on my pillow! then in 1964 I progressed to painting in oils at the Academy St. Charles in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I am self taught and I have had the pleasure of being mentored by many well known Manitoba artists such as Roger Lafreniere, Leona Brown, Silvia Russell in acrylics, watercolours, oils, mixed media, pastels and silk painting, Lately I have dabbled in pan pastels and have taken many classes at the Red Deer College Summer Series in Encaustics and Metallic Landscape Abstract painting by Samantha DaSilva and Wednesdays at the Studio for 9 years.
I have been teaching for 6 years Very basic Watercolour classes at Nord Bridge Senior Center and at Casa. I am a member of Casa, Allied Arts Council and Lethbridge Artist Club.
