I have always admired people who could draw and paint, but it was out of my realm of possibilities until a friend invited me to an art class! Now I’m hooked! I’m one of the many that “took up art” in my senior years!
The world around me inspires me – the sculptured flowers with their intricate detail; the brilliant sunsets splashing on the horizon; or the birds and animals that display their plumage and fur.
Acrylic painting is my medium of choice, but also paint in watercolor and pastels. I have taken several workshops with the Lethbridge Artists Club, have had some private tutoring and have found You Tube tutorials beneficial.
My work has been in local exhibitions and in a California resort where I’ve won prizes competing against other artists in the park. I have sold a number of paintings at art shows.
It is color and values and hues of colors that excite me!
