Cassandra Allred (nee Bokvist) Born in Calgary, AB 1975
I have been involved with art making for many years; since very young I doodled, painted, made sculpture and experimented with my imagination and creativity. Growing up in Southern Alberta I have found no end to the inspiration for painting, in the landscape of fields that fold into coulee then stretch up into mountains. The people and places that have been part of my life make up the boundless subject matter and influence my love of painting and use of bold colors. I continue to experiment with acrylic paint, some water color, new materials for making art and recently finished my first bronze sculpture; it was an amazing opportunity and hope I can continue to expand my knowledge of working with bronze. I have completed commissioned paintings as well as participated in various group exhibitions and solo exhibits at the Alcove galleries in Southern Alberta Jubilee Calgary, AB and in the Northern Alberta Jubilee Edmonton, AB. It is impossible to imagine a world without creativity. An existence with art is vital to the health and well being of society.
